Massimiliana Delù, the founder of Noah, became a vegetarian at 14 years old. Over time, she realized that she no longer wanted to use products of animal origin—not even for clothes and shoes. So, in 2009, Delù started her own vegan shoe company.
Price
Noah’s footwear prices start at € 39,50 for the kid’s organic slip-ons and up to € 315 for the men’s luxury sneakers.
Animal rights
Noah is a vegan-forward company—meaning that they’re not trying to hide that they’re a business that seeks to avoid animal suffering as much as is practical.
There’s no subtly about their values. The founder is a vegan. The name Noah Italian Vegan Shoes makes it clear that Noah is a cruelty-free brand.
As a vegan customer, you don’t need to wonder if some of the range isn’t vegan or if they use animal-derived glues. And if that wasn’t enough, Noah has PETA-Approved Vegan certification.
Human rights
As a vegan-owned company, Noah takes human rights seriously. They use Italian artisans to make their shoes by hand. This ensures that the workers who make the shoes are treated fairly and paid a living wage. And because the shoes are made in Italy, you can be sure they’re high-quality too.
While we can’t verify if Noah is fairtrade certified, all of Noah’s manufacturers have committed to protecting their workers. The company regularly visits its factories to ensure that they’re maintaining their standards.
Additionally, Noah has a video on its website showing off the handmade craftsmanship of its Italian suppliers.
Materials
We love it when a shoe brand is proud of its materials, and Noah is a shining example—creating a prominent materials page.
Microfibre
Noah uses a type of microfibre called Micronappa for some of its shoes. Microfibres are extremely fine polyester fibers that are breathable, soft-to-touch, long-lasting, water repellent, and easy to clean—making them a great alternative to leather.
Noah also uses microsuede—another high-quality microfibre material similar to suede leather. Noah’s microsuede is a top-level technology product composed of ultra-fine polyester fibers.
Linen
Noah uses linen in some of its shoes. Linen is a fabric made from the fibers of the flax plant. It’s a strong, durable, breathable material perfect for summer shoes.
Noah only sources linen from organically grown flax plants—meaning they’re grown without harmful pesticides and chemicals.
Cotton
Noah’s fabrics made of cotton (often mixed with linen) are also organically grown so no use of harmful pesticides and chemicals, making it a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option.
Organic cotton is known to be light, comfortable, absorbent & breathable, especially skin-friendly, and low allergy potential.
Kenaf
Kenaf is a jute-like fiber plant that is robust, breathable, environmentally friendly, and antistatic. It’s often used as a substitute for leather in vegan shoes.
Noah uses kenaf in the insole of its Organic Line. This is a great choice as kenaf is biodegradable so that it won’t end up in landfills like some synthetic materials.
Natural latex and rubber
Noah also uses natural latex and rubber in its shoes. Natural latex is a component of the rubber tree’s natural milky juice. It’s a durable, robust, antiseptic, renewable, and water repellent material.
Natural rubber is also a component of the rubber tree’s natural milky juice. It’s a rigid, elastic, and waterproof material.
Noah uses natural latex and rubber in the outsole of its Organic Line.
Rubber
Lastly, Noah uses rubber for most of its soles. Rubber is a mixture of natural rubber and recycled synthetic materials. It’s a durable, rugged, and waterproof material.
The glue used is water-based and does not contain animal ingredients.

What could be better?
Noah could improve its website by adding international websites with multiple currencies. This would make it easier for customers from other countries to purchase shoes and also allow them to see prices in their local currency. By increasing international distribution, Noah would be able to free shipping and returns to more countries.
But overall, we’re impressed with Noah Italian Vegan Shoes. They use sustainable and environmentally friendly materials, have a flexible policy for returns and exchanges, and offer free shipping to several countries.
We think they’re worth checking out if you’re looking for a new pair of vegan shoes.
